This month is Women’ History month, so on the basis I want to tell you about the first Female doctor, Elizabeth Blackwell. Elizabeth was born  February 3, 1821. She is known as the first woman to get a medical degree. She became a trailblazer for women as she also supported medical education for women and helped many other women's careers. You may think that no one supported her but her family told her it was a fine idea, but impossible; it was too expensive, and such education was not available to women. So they were not saying that it was a bad Idea, at the time that kind of education for women didn’t exist yet. But she persisted. She convinced two physician friends to let her read medicine with them for a year, and applied to all the medical schools in New York and Philadelphia.

Sadly, The faculty, assuming that the all-male student body would never agree to a woman joining their ranks, allowed them to vote on her admission. As a joke, they voted "yes," and she gained admittance, despite the reluctance of most students and faculty.

Because of this Elizabeth Blackwell became the first female doctor.

Women’s History Month highlights Babe Didrikson Zaharias  according to History.com, history’s First Female Sports Star Mildred Didrikson Zaharias, known as “Babe,” played her way into national fame in 1932, when she entered the U.S. women’s track and field championship as the sole member of her team. Despite competing in team events alone, she won five events and the overall championship. Her next stop? The 1932 Los Angeles Olympics where she took home three medals one silver and two gold. She teed her way onto the golf scene in 1934, when she was the first woman to play in an all-male PGA Tour event. To this day, Babe holds the record for the longest winning streak in golf history (male or female), a feat she accomplished between 1946 and 1947.
