Do you recognize this song? He is Carlos Santana. A notable Hipanic American. Carlos Santana is an incredible guitarist.

 As a child Carlos's father, Jose, was an accomplished professional violinist, and as a child Carlos learned to play the instrument from his father, though he ultimately didn't enjoy the tones he created. He would eventually take up the electric guitar, for which he developed an ardent passion

Carlos Santana, (born July 20, 1947, Autlán de Navarro, Mexico), Mexican-born American musician whose popular music combined rock, jazz, blues, and Afro-Cuban rhythms with a Latin sound. Santana began playing the violin at age five; by age eight, however, he had switched to the guitar.

A few of his most popular songs are,"Smooth", "Soul Sacrifice" From: 'Santana' (1969), and "Evil Ways" From: 'Santana' (1969), Carlos is 74 years old. I hope this motivates you to be your best self.

Here is a another notable American who is of Hispanic heritage we would like to honor;

According to Biography.com Ellen Ochoa made her mark by becoming the first Hispanic American woman to go to space with a nine-day mission in 1993. Ochoa was born in 1958 in Los Angeles, California, years after her paternal grandparents immigrated from Mexico. She first obtained her physics degree from San Diego State University and later her masters and doctorate from Stanford University’s department of electrical engineering by 1985. Through her impressive research work, NASA selected Ochoa in 1991 and she became an astronaut in July of that year. Two years later, Ochoa made history on board the Space Shuttle Discovery on a mission to study the Earth’s ozone layer. She later completed three more missions.

Now it’s time for "Did You Know?” September 17, 1787, was the day the Constitution of the United States was signed.  Here are some facts about our Constitution:  The U.S. Constitution has 4,400 words.  It is the oldest and shortest written Constitution of any major government in the world Thomas Jefferson did NOT sign the Constitution. He was out of the country at the time. Because of his poor health, Benjamin Franklin needed help to sign the Constitution. As he did so, tears streamed down his face.

When it came time for the states to ratify the Constitution, the lack of any bill of rights was the primary sticking point.

Facts came from Constitutionfacts.com if you want to learn more.

For a month we are celebrating  National Hispanic Heritage Month-  Here is a notable American who is of Hispanic heritage we would like to honor;

Born in Arizona to a Mexican American family, Cesar Chavez grew up around the people he later helped through his activism. The defining moment in Chavez’s life came when his family moved to California during the Great Depression to become farm workers, cementing his fight for farmers rights.

Cesar Chavez along with Dolores Huerta would go on to found the National Farm Workers Association, later the United Farm Workers labor union, becoming primary figures for Latin American civil rights.
