IYT is a college preparatory program founded in 2013 in Sacramento, California to increase the number of young men color who attend and graduate from colleges and universities. Our aim is to break generational cycles of poverty, low educational attainment, and disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. IYT serves more than 400 students at Valley, Florin, Natomas, Burbank, Discovery, and Luther Burbank High Schools as well as at Samuel Jackman and Natomas Gateway Middle Schools. Students enter the program from 7th -10th grades and exit upon graduation from a university.
